About Me

About Me

I’m Amy Neumann, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker based in Louisville, Colorado. I take an active and collaborative approach to therapy, partnering with my clients to help you reach your goals.  Therapy works best when you feel safe and supported but also challenged to step outside your comfort zone and address any negative patterns from the past that may no longer serve you.  I bring intuition, warmth, and humor to my work and encourage you to be open and curious as we explore areas for growth and change in your life.

I treat a wide variety of issues, including anxiety, depression,  life transitions, relational issues, fertility, parenting, and grief/loss. I have a subspecialty in women’s reproductive health issues with a focus on fertility, pregnancy loss, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs).  I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens, and I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support my clients as they heal from the symptoms and emotional distress caused by disturbing life events.

I completed my Masters of Social Work in 2008 and began my career in the DC area providing therapy to children, adolescents, and families using play therapy. expressive arts therapies, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. After the birth of my own children in 2011 and 2013, I experienced firsthand the struggle of adjusting to the role of mother.  I decided to shift the focus of my practice to support women during this challenging time. I  completed advanced training in perinatal mental health, and I now devote much of my practice to supporting women through the journey of conception, pregnancy, and the postpartum period.  In addition to my private practice work, I also currently lead virtual groups for first-time mothers through Parent and Childhood Education (www.pacemoms.org)

In my spare time, I enjoy singing, seeing live theatre and music, hiking, skiing, and spending time with my husband and two children in beautiful Colorado!
